Thermal imaging in industry

Such an inspection can be carried out through infrared thermography. It involves thermal imaging cameras remotely measuring the infrared energy emitted by surfaces. It is a very popular and non-invasive method used for:

  • search for temperature anomalies that may indicate symptoms of impending failure,
  • Determine the degree of wear and tear of industrial equipment components,
  • detection of defects and leaks in the installation,

Nowadays, many plants order thermographic inspections every 6 or 12 months, and this is associated with the many advantages of thermal imaging surveys. Detection of defects during periodic inspections will not only avoid breakdowns, but in many cases fire. It is also a way to avoid unnecessary repair costs for damaged equipment and downtime on production lines.
