It is important to remember that there is never a 100% certainty that the leak can be located during the inspection. If the pipes are run in an insulating lagging, the leaking liquid may flow along it and accumulate some distance from the actual leak. If cold water is leaking, we do not achieve a sufficient temperature difference for the leak to be visible on the thermogram. No guarantees can be given for finding the location with thermal imaging, but it is still the best start in the search for the cause of the problem.
